Cereal time!

Henry officially started eating cereal about a week ago. He's still not too sure about it, but he's managing to eat some each morning. We're gearing up for baby 'food' in the next couple of days. Ella loves feeding Henry and Grandma Sally and Daddy all have tried their hands at helping the little one explore his new food.

Also, here's a picture of Ella, Henry and Mama making cookies over the weekend! It's a team effort!

Out West...

We had a terrific trip to Denver to visit Granny and Grandpa last week. The weather was beautiful at the beginning of the week, then in snowed, then it was nice again. My parents home is really terrific and b/c the time change (2 hrs) throws off the kids, I was able to get up really early each morning and see the sunrise and enjoy the few dozen deer in the yard (really crazy!) YES - I did say that we watched the sunrise daily... ha ha! Ella and Henry had a blast visiting with their grandparents and just disrupting their normal lives. We celebrated Grandpa's birthday with Henry having a diaper blow-out all over Granny, Ella chattering up a storm and a birthday cake made with love by Jenny. We also went swimming at the new gym's pool, visited with Cami's family (5 generations were there!), played at the Denver Children's Museum and played outside. It was great. Here are a few pictures and a little video.

Just a little babble and some giggles to get you through the weekend. We're heading to Denver on Sunday so we'll put up another post when we get home. Have a great week!

Going on a Bear Hunt

...it's our new favorite thing to do! You remember the song/story: Going on a Bear Hunt...Going to Catch a BIG One! Well today, we went hunting (inside of course.) We made an explorer hat for Ella, Henry wore his fishing hat, we made a tent/fort inside and we got ready. We got our flashlights together, our camera and our walkie-talkies...we decided it wasn't a scary bear, but rather a silly one. Here's shot of the explorers safe in the tent and then a shot of the bear in the deep, dark cave (aka the basement!)

Surprise Visit

We surprised Grandma D and Great Grandma Julie this past weekend with a quick day trip to Toledo on Saturday. Grandma D wasn't even home when we got there! After she got home, we spent the day at Great Grandma Julie's playing on the senior walk-way outside her apartment. It was a lot of fun.

Also, here is my first attempt to upload video (clearly I need to keep the camera horizontal... but you get the idea.

Rub a Dub Dub...

Just hanging out

So the whole family has been fighting a cold/flu. Poor Henry really struggled this past weekend with an ear ache and a cold, Ella's cough is better, but her nose is perpetually running! Phil and I are both run-down and have the sniffles, but we're hanging in there. If only we could get a good night's sleep (a-hem Henry!) Henry and Phil were both pumped for the home opener of the Chicago Cubs on Monday... you can tell Henry's still a little under the weather by his eyes - but both boys are hoping to a great year at Wrigley.

Ella is just chomping at the bit to play outside (spring is just around the corner we hope!) and did some painting inside yesterday.

She's so focused, that I have a hard time getting her to look at the camera - but you can tell that she was working hard on her latest masterpiece! It's supposed to be nice this weekend so hopefully we can post some outside pictures early next week!
